In the late 90s, synthetic oil was extensively used as an energy lubricant. API came out with the first plan of using synthetic oil and tasted commercial success. In the next couple of years, few more synthetic oil manufacturing companies came into existence.

The best part about synthetic oil is that it is compatible to gasoline engines, diesel, as well as petrol engines.
