Synthetic oil is formed with synthetic crude oil and its hydrogenation. Syncrude alone produces 14% of the total synthetic oil of Canada.
In the late 90s, synthetic oil was extensively used as an energy lubricant. API came out with the first plan of using synthetic oil and tasted commercial success. In the next couple of years, few more synthetic oil manufacturing companies came into existence.
There are various versions of synthetic oil that you can choose from. Some of them include the Amsoil, Mobil 1, and few others. The best part about synthetic oil is that it is compatible to gasoline engines, diesel, as well as petrol engines. There are certain pros and cons of using synthetic oil in place of the traditional fuel. You get a better control on the temperature and performance.
